What is CPCS?
The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) is a training and certification program for individuals who operate construction plant machinery in the UK. The CPCS was developed by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and is administered by the Construction Industry Certification Scheme (CPCS) Ltd.
Plant Machinery Operator Competence
The CPCS program offers a comprehensive range of plant machinery categories, including excavators, cranes, dump trucks, bulldozers, and more. It assesses an operator’s competence through a combination of practical and theoretical tests, and issues a certification card to successful candidates.
CPCS Certification
The CPCS certification is recognised by the construction industry in the UK as a proof of an individual’s competence to operate construction plant machinery. It is also used as evidence of competence for construction sites that require operators to hold a CPCS card.
