What is the EUSR SHEA Water Passport Scheme?
The EUSR SHEA Water passport course is a 1 day EUSR Safety Health and Environment Awareness (SHEA) Water Passport course. The Safety Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) suite of schemes have been developed in collaboration with industry to provide a uniform approach to health, safety and environmental awareness training across the utilities sector, in line with Health and Safety Executive guidelines.
Who is the EUSR SHEA Water Passport Scheme For?
The EUSR SHEA Water passport scheme is designed for individuals who require access to operational sites within the water industry, both permanent and temporary, at all levels including operatives, supervisors and management.
What’s Included in the EUSR SHEA Water Passport Course?
The SHEA Water course comprises of eight modules. Six modules are ‘core’ modules and are relevant for all utility industries and support workplace practice in relation to health, safety and environmental law. Two modules provide the water industry specific content. The EUSR card is designed to provide evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge, understanding and behavioural awareness.
Certification and Assessment
Individuals must complete all eight modules and pass the SHEA Water assessment to gain EUSR SHEA Water registration. It is an Energy & Utility Skills Passport scheme and does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.
CSCS Affiliated for Access to Construction Sites
The SHEA Water scheme is partnered with CSCS to allow water industry workers access to construction sites for purposes of utilities work without the need for a separate CSCS card.
How do I get an EUSR SHEA Water Card?
Registration is based on successful completion of a training course. Upon successful completion, a cover note will be issued by the trainer and trainees will be registered on the EUSR. Once the necessary paperwork and payment have been received the NEUSR SHEA Water card will be issued within 28 days.
Certification & Assessment
This course comprises of a trainer lead presentation, a health screening aspect and a multiple choice test. You will be called upon to share your experiences and thoughts throughout to build on the course material and to identify cases of good and bad practice. Once the SHEA Water course has been completed you will receive a EUSR SHEA Water card.
Requirements to Attend the SHEA Water Course
A good level of written and spoken English is required to successfully complete this course.
When Does the Qualification Expire?
The EUSR SHEA Water Card is valid for 3 years from the date of training. After which the course will require renewal by anyone still working within the industry.
EUSR Registration
EUSR registration and card supply costs are £30 + VAT. It provides on-site evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge and awareness with regards to hygiene issues. It is also a pre-requisite for many other industry competence requirements and EUSR registration schemes.
What is the Online EUSR SHEA Water Passport Scheme?
The EUSR SHEA Water passport course is available online. This online course is rolled out using Zoom or similar software options to achieve virtual classroom environment. To attend the online version of the course you must have access to a computer, laptop, tablet or phone that uses a microphone and webcam. All paperwork, instructions and log in details for the course are sent provided prior.
