NEBOSH Certificate Assessment & Exams
The NEBOSH Certificate classroom course includes two assessments:
Unit NG1
- Assessment Method: An “Open Book” exam completed at home.
- Format: You will receive exam papers to complete within 24 hours. The exam features scenario-based questions that test your understanding of the NEBOSH General Certificate course content. You can use reference materials, but must document all sources. NEBOSH employs software to ensure answers are not merely copied from textbooks.
Unit NG2
- Assessment Method: A three-hour practical assessment conducted in your workplace (or another suitable location).
Both assessments are evaluated by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH, chosen for their expertise and experience in occupational health and safety.
NEBOSH General Certificate Certification
Upon successful completion of one or more units, you will receive a NEBOSH certificate for each unit passed. Successfully completing all units will earn you the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
Prior Learning
While it is recommended to have previously completed the IOSH Managing Safely course, it is not a mandatory prerequisite for enrolling in the NEBOSH General Certificate classroom course.
